A novel by Kazushige Nojima accompanying the Final Fantasy VII Remake games. I like FF7, but I expected the book to be typical video game related novel ie, nothing special. How wrong have I been...
So far, all of Houellebecq's novels I have read follow the same basic plot. Plateforme is not really any different to Les Particules élémentaires, and even in Extension du domaine de la lutte one can see the same pattern—although in a raw, experimental form.
"Atomised" is the second novel written by Michel Houellebecq. To me, it shares its theme with Whatever—Houellebecq's first novel—but explores it in more depth and from a different angle.
"Whatever" was definitely not a leichte Lektur. It is a strange book, but at the same time it felt not difficult at all to understand. Some parts of it, at least.
The book is about a 30 year old software programmer with a resigned view of life. Given the similarity to my own situation, the description piqued my curiosity.
